Pure in Heart has three elements: prayer, community and mission
Prayer and community
Pure in Heart meets every Wednesday in Maria Assumpta Chapel in Kensington Square. The evening begins at 7pm with Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament, recitation of the Rosary, intercessory prayers and Scripture. On the first Wednesday of the month we have mass. After the Holy Hour or mass we move next door to the convent for some social time over a cup of tea and a short talk followed by discussion in small groups. The formal part of the evening finishes at 9.20 when we move across to the pub.
As well as supporting each other in trying to live chaste and joyful lives, another important aspect of Pure in Heart’s charism is bringing the Catholic Church’s Good News about the gift of our human sexuality to young people. The Pure in Heart Mission Team does this by giving talks and workshops to teens in schools and parishes that affirm human love and sexuality as intrinsically good and beautiful but in need of healing and enlightening by the love of Christ.
